The Building Envelope, Lighting and Ventilation Upgrades funding stream supports the assessment and upgrades applicable to new and existing agri-food and agri-product production and office areas and equipment that create energy savings and/or GHG reductions.

This funding stream supports assessment and upgrades that are unique to any programs offered by other provincial or federal agencies or programs.

The Capital Infrastructure and Investments program supports the growth and expansion of Manitoba’s agri-processing sector. The program helps applicants with capital investment purchases for modernization and capacity-building activities that enhance efficiency, productivity and environmental sustainability, by providing access to:
• The development and implementation of new technologies
• New markets through the implementation of quality control measures
• Streamlined and better managed operations, increased efficiency, and increased profitability by integrating company operations
• New revenue streams associated with offering co-packing services
• Co-packing services for brand owners who may not own their own agriprocessing capacity

Funding to reduce wastage of agri-food and agri-product inputs that occur during storage of ingredients and during processing by supporting the purchase of assets and systems that will mitigate wastage at these points.

The Market Development program is designed to advance the agriculture, agri-food and agri-product sector's innovation and business capacity to maintain existing markets and capture emerging market opportunities. The program will provide financial assistance to eligible recipients for market development activities that enhance the interprovincial trade and export capacity of individual businesses and improve overall domestic and international trade access for the sector.

Industry Development Initiatives program will advance the agriculture, agri-food and agri-product sector's capacity and competitiveness by providing funding to support incremental group learning activities, knowledge transfer events and resource development. The program will provide financial assistance to eligible applicants for activities that enhance the sector.

Supports activities to develop and implement community based food systems from planning through to development and implementation. Food systems planning includes a broad range of activities that may include revitalization of traditional food systems, agriculture, community gardens, and local food sovereignty initiatives, and processing and preservation.

Support access to capital items required in implementing and/or scaling up food system/agriculture projects from production and processing to preservation. Funding may also support the adoption of new technologies into community owned infrastructure, including equipment purchases that support the transformation of raw products into value-added goods, enhance traditional harvesting practices, or bring new products into the market.

Sustainable Agriculture Manitoba (SAM) provides funding to primary producers and land managers to implement cost-shared beneficial management practices (BMPs). The objective of SAM is to increase the environmental and economic sustainability of agriculture operations in Manitoba. Priority areas include climate change adaptation and mitigation, air quality, water quality and quantity, soil health, and biodiversity.

The Agricultural Societies Infrastructure Revitalization Program provides annual capital funding to help agricultural societies make major repairs to existing infrastructure. In 2024/25, the program awarded $2.5 million in grants to ag societies around the province.

The Energy Savings for Business Program will help eligible Alberta businesses reduce emissions, decrease operating costs, grow their operations and become more competitive, while creating skilled jobs and boosting economic recovery.

Recognizing that time is money to Alberta’s businesses, the program will offer streamlined applications, quick turnaround times, expanded technology lists and clear, timely, comprehensive information. ESB will give businesses fast access to incentives for cost-effective efficiency measures: 

• Up to $250,000 is available per project

• Up to $1 million per parent company is available to cover the cost of products and services.

• Minimum incentive amount of $500 *NEW

The Emerging Opportunities Grant Program supports the Government of Alberta’s strategic objectives related to growth and development of Alberta’s value-added agriculture sector. The program supports projects that focus on innovation and result in significant company growth and sector impact. Projects can include new technologies, best new practises, significant capacity expansions and new builds.

The On-Farm Value-Added Grant Program supports primary producers in adding value to their agricultural products to grow sales, expand production capacity, explore market opportunities and create jobs in Alberta.

The PREP program will provide up to $20,000 per project to complete on-farm research that supports the evaluation of whether a production practice change is feasible on-farm. The program will enable producers to gain sufficient data to make informed decisions and understand how to further adapt a production practice.

In most cases, producers are expected to be working with third-party service providers to support the project trial, delivery, and analysis. Proposals are required to contain a sound project design and testing approach that will support the evaluation of whether a production practice has a positive return on investment and is a favourable change for the farm.

The Resiliency and Public Trust Program enables stakeholders to gain resiliency and build public trust in Alberta’s agriculture and agri-food sectors. This includes opportunities for better awareness and education about industry best practices and the development, adoption and enhancement of assurance systems that will help to build trust and resiliency in the industry.

The Value-Added Program supports the continued diversification, innovation, growth and prosperity in Alberta’s value-added food and bio-industrial sectors. Processors can apply for grants for value-added projects that increase company sales and production capacity, expand market opportunities and create jobs in Alberta.

The Beneficial Management Practices (BMP) Program works to help producers contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment with projects that improve waste management, air quality control, emissions control, soil and riparian integrity, and environmental impacts.

The Food Processing Growth Fund is a three-year, up to $20M, program funded by the Government of BC through the Ministry of Agriculture and Food (AF) and delivered by IAF.

The objective of the fund is to assist funding recipients in improving their facilities, operations, capacity, and systems to increase productivity and support utilization of BC agricultural inputs.

The Bee BC Program enhances bee health throughout the province of British Columbia. Bee health is important, not only to produce honey, but also for the contribution that bees make to the pollination of many crop species and to the wider environment.

The Small Food Processor Scale-Up Program supports projects in BC’s diverse value-added food processing sector to scale up operations to increase productivity, business opportunities, and competitiveness.

B.C.’s tree fruit growers will soon have access to direct financial assistance to help in strengthening their operations and enhance long-term resilience and sustainability. 

The 2025 British Columbia Tree Fruit Climate Change Response Fund is a $10-million one-time payment fund, to support tree fruit growers in response to the significant challenges faced over the past four years, and the ongoing threats impacting the sector.

Program Goal: To support food systems partnerships in BC to advance practices, processes, infrastructure, and collaborations that will strengthen and streamline food system logistics, storage, and transportation and address supply chain bottlenecks.

The third intake of the British Columbia (B.C.) On-Farm Technology Adoption Program will focus on labour saving technologies. This program provides cost-shared funding to eligible participants to adopt new technologies on-farm that will enhance profitability, productivity, and/or efficiency.  

Led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the program is funded under the Sustainable Canadian Agriculture Partnership, a five year (2023-2028) federal-provincial-territorial initiative to strengthen the competitiveness, innovation, and resiliency of Canada’s agriculture and agri-food sector, and is delivered through Innovate BC. 

The BC Manufacturing Jobs Fund (BCMJF) is helping manufacturing companies modernize, innovate, and grow by providing funding for capital projects in all regions in B.C., particularly in communities affected by economic impacts or downturns. 

The program welcomes applications from all manufacturing sectors. There is a particular focus on helping the forestry sector retrofit and develop new, sustainable value-added business lines that reduce dependency on old growth logging and make innovative use of biomaterials.

The ADOPT program provides funding to help producer groups and First Nations communities demonstrate and evaluate new agricultural practices and technologies at the local level. The results of successful trials can then be adopted by agricultural operations in the region.

The Agtech Growth Fund (AGF) is a research and development (R&D) funding program designed to accelerate the commercialization of game-changing technological innovations in the province’s agricultural sector.

STSI is designed to encourage investment in early-stage technology startups that bring new products to market and create jobs in Saskatchewan. The program offers a non-refundable 45% tax credit to Saskatchewan-based investors who invest in Eligible Technology Startup Businesses (ESBs). Tax credits are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
