Developing Technologies to Address Challenges in Alberta’s Agri-Food and Bioindustrial Sectors
Eligible Costs May Include:
Labour Costs: Gross wages for project personnel (e.g., technical staff, graduate students) at reasonable market rates, directly related to project activities.
Materials: Project-related materials, charged at cost or fair market value, in accordance with standard accounting practices.
Consulting & Contractor Fees: Fees for external consultants or contractors at fair market rates, essential to the project’s execution.
Equipment & Supplies: Purchase of necessary equipment and supplies (excluding land or buildings), valued at cost or fair market value.
Software & Databases: Costs to acquire project-critical software or databases, prorated over the project’s duration.
Travel: Pre-approved travel expenses including mileage, economy airfare, accommodations, and meals, as outlined in the project budget.
Field Trials & Demonstrations: Costs associated with conducting on-site trials or demonstrations.
Professional Services: Routine accounting, tax, legal, or financial services directly related to the project.
Subcontractor Costs: Fair market costs for subcontracted services that directly support project outcomes.
Hospitality: Reasonable food and venue costs for project-related events (excluding alcohol). Luxury meals require pre-approval.
Other Pre-Approved Costs: Any additional expenses explicitly authorized by Alberta Innovates in advance.
