On-Farm Value-Added

This program helps primary producers increase the value of their agricultural products through on-farm processing and operational upgrades. It supports growth in sales, production capacity, and market reach, while also contributing to job creation in Alberta’s agri-food sector. Funding is available for both capital and non-capital investments directly tied to value-added activities.

Eligible funding may include:
• Processing and food safety equipment that meets traceability or control standards
• Software systems that improve operational oversight and efficiency
• Third-party engineering services for equipment setup and integration

This grant enables producers to diversify operations and capture more value from their products.

Eligible Purposes

This funding stream supports value-added processing at the farm level. Eligible activities include:

Other expenses may be eligible if they directly support value-added processing and on-farm growth.
