Supports activities to develop and implement community based food systems from planning through to development and implementation. Food systems planning includes a broad range of activities that may include revitalization of traditional food systems, agriculture, community gardens, and local food sovereignty initiatives, and processing and preservation.

Such as:
Knowledge transfer expenses related to the development, design, and distribution of communication and extension materials
Incremental salaries, wages, and benefits for specialists assisting communities with food system initiatives, research, land mapping, or other approved activities

Professional fees
Subcontracted services
Facility and equipment rental fees associated with the project
Overhead (up to 10% of total approved eligible expenses), including internal administration, use of own materials and supplies, and use of own equipment
