BC On-Farm Technology Adoption

This program offers cost-shared funding for B.C. farmers to implement new, labour-saving technologies that improve farm performance. The focus of this intake is on tools and systems that reduce manual labour and enhance productivity. Delivered by Innovate BC and led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the program is funded through the Sustainable Canadian Agriculture Partnership (2023–2028).

Eligible funding may include:

  • Robotic equipment for planting, harvesting, or sorting

  • Smart sensors for livestock, crops, or environmental monitoring

  • AI-powered software and decision tools for farm management

All funded projects must demonstrate clear labour savings and operational improvement.

Funding may be used to support the adoption of first-of-their-kind, labour-saving farm technologies, including:

  • Autonomous robotics for weeding, harvesting, or supply transport

  • Smart sensors and monitoring devices for livestock or crop management

  • AI tools and farm management software to optimize decisions and workflows

Additional technologies may be eligible if they deliver significant labour savings on-farm.
