Food Processing Growth

The Food Processing Growth Fund is a three-year, up to $20M, program funded by the Government of BC through the Ministry of Agriculture and Food (AF) and delivered by IAF.

The objective of the fund is to assist funding recipients in improving their facilities, operations, capacity, and systems to increase productivity and support utilization of BC agricultural inputs.

Eligible Investments & Activities:
Facilities, Infrastructure & Equipment:
Purchase and install new or expanded facilities/infrastructure (e.g., cooler, freezer, production room).
Includes renovations, site improvements, and related costs.
New/upgraded equipment or machinery to boost production or expand product lines.
Technology & Systems:
New tech, software, and automation (e.g., robotics, AI, digital systems) to increase processing capacity.
Includes costs for facility upgrades needed to install new tech.
Applied R&D:
New/improved products, lab testing (e.g., pH, shelf-life, microbiology, sensory, nutritional analysis).
Support from private/academic institutions.
Training & Upskilling:
Training for new infrastructure, equipment, or systems.
Specialized training for staff and experts (e.g., food scientists, engineers, software developers).
