Capital Infrastructure and Investments

The Market Development program is designed to advance the agriculture, agri-food and agri-product sector's innovation and business capacity to maintain existing markets and capture emerging market opportunities. The program will provide financial assistance to eligible recipients for market development activities that enhance the interprovincial trade and export capacity of individual businesses and improve overall domestic and international trade access for the sector.

Equipment for transforming raw inputs into higher-value products (food, beverage, or agri-products).

Equipment for preparation, production, packaging, forming, fractionating, or decorticating.

Equipment supporting commercialization of new products, technologies, and practices.

Ancillary components (software, installation, professional services, training) related to new equipment.

Facility modifications for equipment installation (e.g., wall removals, ventilation ducts).

Materials handling systems (conveyor systems, process pipes, augers).

Process-related storage vessels and food safety equipment integrated into larger projects.

Rented equipment contributing to project completion.

Equipment supporting co-packing revenue streams for processors.

Quality control equipment (e.g., thermometers, refractometers, moisture analyzers, pH meters, scales).

Software
Software for process integration, inventory management, traceability, and operational integration.

Hardware (routers, switches, cables) for ERP system deployment and integration.

Software related to managing quality control processes and procedures.

Subscription-based ERP software eligible for up to three years from the project start date.

Professional Services
Services for commissioning, calibration, training, and implementation of new equipment/software.

Feasibility, design, and consultation services (engineering, environmental, or quality control).

Services for establishing quality control procedures.

Materials and Supplies
Components for installing eligible equipment or software.

Expenses for training events or seminars related to the use of equipment or software.

Subcontracted Services
Installation services for eligible equipment and software.

Overhead
Indirect expenses necessary for project completion (equipment use, internal materials, utilities).

Eligible overhead capped at 10% of total approved expenses.
