Wildlife Predator Compensation
The Wildlife Predator Compensation Program provides compensation to ranchers whose livestock are killed or injured by wildlife predators.
Funding for the Wildlife Predator Compensation Program comes from dedicated revenue from the sale of recreational hunting and fishing licences in Alberta and from the federal government.
Remote Area Heating Allowance
The Remote Area Heating Allowance Program was established in 1980 to reduce the cost of heating fuels for those Albertans who did not have access to natural gas service. These individuals generally reside in remote locations in the province.

Small Community Opportunity
The Small Community Opportunity Program provides grants to solve challenges and find opportunities in rural areas. Indigenous and small communities, as well as non-profit groups they work with, may receive between $20,000 and $100,000 for local projects. By building capacity in the agriculture industry and small business, these rural communities will grow their economic footprint.
Value-Added Products to Market
The Value-Added Program supports the continued diversification, innovation, growth and prosperity in Alberta’s value-added food and bio-industrial sectors. Processors can apply for grants for value-added projects that increase company sales and production capacity, expand market opportunities and create jobs in Alberta.
Recruitment, Retention and Innovative Skills
The Recruitment, Retention and Innovative Skills Training (RRIST) Program, part of the Agriculture and Food Workforce Development Initiative, offers a maximum funding of $250,000 to support BC's agriculture industry in adopting innovative tools and practices for recruiting and retaining domestic workers. Eligible activities include developing new training programs, increasing workforce diversity, and improving recruitment and retention strategies.
Food Safety
The On-Farm Food Safety (OFFS) Program is a cost-sharing initiative designed to assist in the improvement of British Columbia’s (BC) food safety.
If you have an eligible BC on-farm businesses such as farmers, producers, packers, and ranchers, the program provides up to $10,000 to help you with your food safety projects.
Beneficial Management Practices
The Beneficial Management Practices (BMP) Program works to help producers contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment with projects that improve waste management, air quality control, emissions control, soil and riparian integrity, and environmental impacts.
Knowledge and Technology Transfer
KTTP is a cost-shared program designed to support B.C.’s producers and processors in adapting to changing environmental, production, and market conditions.
The program helps drive innovation and long-term behavior change to strengthen B.C.’s agriculture and food sector by funding events and activities that foster practical knowledge and skill development.
Organizations can receive up to 75% in cost shared funding for eligible activities, including expert-led sessions, hands-on training, and on-farm demonstrations.
For a successful application, organizations must show how the activities will transfer knowledge and/or build the skills of agriculture and seafood producers or processors with active operations in B.C.
Food Processing Growth
The Food Processing Growth Fund is a three-year, up to $20M, program funded by the Government of BC through the Ministry of Agriculture and Food (AF) and delivered by IAF.
The objective of the fund is to assist funding recipients in improving their facilities, operations, capacity, and systems to increase productivity and support utilization of BC agricultural inputs.
BC Traceability Funding
Traceability Adoption Program provides cost-shared funding towards the purchase and installation of traceability systems, practices, technologies, or infrastructure to help businesses meet new and existing regulatory requirements for the traceability of food, animals, and seafood products.
Extreme Weather Preparedness
The Extreme Weather Preparedness for Agriculture Program invites commercial Agriculture and Aquaculture primary producers in BC to apply for cost-share funding to increase the resiliency of their existing farming infrastructure for extreme weather events.
The Extreme Weather Preparedness for Agriculture (EWP) Program is an investment program funded by federal, provincial, and territorial governments through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP), with $2 million available in 2024/25 to help producers increase on-farm resiliency for select extreme weather events.
Buy BC Partnership
The Buy BC Partnership Program is a fundamental component of Buy BC programming that provides up to $2 million in cost-shared funding annually to local producers, processors, and associations to support their ability to undertake local marketing activities that increase consumer awareness and sales of local agriculture, food and beverage products.
Buy BC is a province-wide marketing program that focuses on building greater consumer awareness, demand and sales of local agriculture, food, and beverage products within British Columbia. The Buy BC logo provides a trusted symbol for consumers to look for and identify fresh, high-quality B.C. products, and encourages them to explore new products from around the province.

The Enhanced Replant Program (ERP), funded through the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, seeks to increase the competitiveness and resiliency of the BC agri-food economy in domestic and global markets.

The Perennial Crop Renewal Program supports producers to remove unproductive, diseased, or unmarketable cultivars and to adopt growing systems that are better suited to environmental conditions and market demands.
