Extreme Weather Preparedness
This program provides cost-shared funding to commercial agriculture and aquaculture producers in British Columbia to strengthen their infrastructure against extreme weather impacts. Funded through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP), the program supports upgrades that prepare farms for events like wildfires, floods, and heatwaves. A total of $2 million is available in 2024–2025 to help producers improve resiliency and protect operations.
Eligible funding may include:
• Wildfire protection infrastructure and heat mitigation systems
• Flood-preparedness measures for barns, greenhouses, or storage sites
• Innovative infrastructure projects addressing local climate risks
The program enables proactive investments to protect farms from weather-related disruptions.
