Summer Student Employment

Employers in Prince Edward Island can receive wage subsidies by hiring students under two distinct programs:

Jobs for Youth Program
For students aged 15–29 working 8–12 weeks over summer. Students must be returning to school in the fall.

Post-Secondary Student Program
For full-time post-secondary students working 12–18 weeks. Priority is given to placements offering experiential learning aligned with a student’s field of study (e.g., health, trades, technology).

Employers are encouraged to demonstrate how they will contribute to a student’s education through hands-on, field-related skills or mentorship. Preference is given to opportunities that support academic advancement and future employment pathways.
