Liam’s Buzzing New Beekeeping Business in Truro, Nova Scotia

Liam, a young entrepreneur from Truro, Nova Scotia, just received $18,000 to launch his first beekeeping enterprise—and the buzz is real!

Inspired by the declining bee population and the essential role pollinators play in food security, Liam applied for a start-up grant focused on environmental innovation. With the funding, he’s building several hives, investing in protective gear, and training with local apiary experts.

“I want to create something that supports the ecosystem and provides fresh, local honey to the community,” Liam shares.

Beyond honey, Liam’s long-term vision includes pollination services for nearby farms and educational workshops for youth. With the support of this grant, a small idea is quickly growing into a sweet success.
