Irrigation Efficiency

This program provides cost-shared rebates to eligible producers who convert outdated, high-pressure or low-efficiency irrigation systems to high-efficiency, low-pressure alternatives. The initiative aims to reduce energy use and enhance water resource sustainability on Saskatchewan farms.

Eligible funding may include:
• Conversion of existing irrigation systems
• Adoption of water-efficient technologies
• Costs related to engineering or consulting services

The program helps producers improve productivity while protecting natural resources.

Eligible Purposes

Funding may be used to support the adoption of Beneficial Management Practices (BMPs) that improve soil, water, and environmental outcomes, such as:

• Livestock water protection and sulphate water treatment
• Grazing and rangeland health management
• Seeding of native or tame forage for improved land use

Other BMP-related activities may be eligible if they meet program criteria and contribute to improved irrigation efficiency.
