Agro-Environmental Services

To support and deliver high-quality agro-environmental services to agricultural producers related to on-farm climate change and environmental sustainability. The services may include: nutrient management planning, integrated pest management planning, soil health-related initiatives, environmental farm plan support, beneficial management practices adoption support and support for research led by departmental staff. The services delivered will foster environmental leadership across agricultural sectors and regions and include educational and information and technology transfer activities focused on environmental sustainability and climate change adaptation and mitigation.

Operational expenses to deliver an agro-environmental program to producers including: • Assisting producers with the preparation of Environmental Farm Plans. • Developing Nutrient Management Plans. • Co-ordinating professional development and field day events for producers. • Liaising with local and provincial agricultural and environmental groups. • Increasing integrated pest management awareness and education activities. • Support research activities led by departmental staff. • Additional agricultural services related to on-farm climate change and environmental sustainability may be considered. • Soil health initiatives.
