Watershed Management
This program provides financial assistance to community-based watershed groups across Prince Edward Island to enhance local water systems and habitats. It supports planning, management, and educational projects that address pollution, biodiversity, and community involvement in environmental protection.
Eligible funding may include:
• Watershed management plans and capacity-building initiatives
• Habitat restoration projects addressing erosion, runoff, and pollution
• Community education, outreach, and biodiversity research activities
The fund empowers local groups to lead impactful watershed stewardship across PEI.

Funding Amount
Funding is allocated as follows: 50% based on watershed size, 25% on performance, 12.5% on external leveraging, and 12.5% on community involvement
Eligible Applicants
Only the PEI Watershed Alliance and its 24 members are eligible for funding, and funds are distributed by the Watershed Management Funding formula
Eligible Purposes
Funding may be used to support watershed planning, restoration, and engagement activities, including:
• Watershed plans, pollution control measures, and habitat enhancement
• Community-based outreach, education, and environmental awareness
• Research and organizational capacity-building for watershed groups
Additional initiatives may be eligible if they contribute to watershed health and ecological sustainability.
