The Export Enhancement and Diversification Fund helps Prince Edward Island exporters and export-ready businesses with marketing and trade costs to execute export plans and activities to explore new global export opportunities to diversify and enhance their business.

Support for Marketing and Trade Costs to Execute Export Plans and Explore New Global Opportunities

1. Marketing Activities

  • Market research (primary, qualitative, quantitative)

  • Creation of new advertising and marketing materials (including digital and virtual content)

  • Execution of export advertising or promotional campaigns

  • Implementation of e-commerce or digital strategies

  • Market investigation and impact strategy development

  • Trade show and event attendance (maximum 2 participants per event)

    • Eligible costs include booth/exhibitor fees, registration, and travel

2. Travel-Related Costs

2.1 Accommodations

  • Standard room costs based on international per diems (Treasury Board rates)

2.2 Transportation (Economy Fare Required)

  • Airfare (includes flight and airport fees; economy rate must be claimed)

  • Car rental (includes rental, fuel, insurance; limited to event duration plus 1 day before and after)

  • Taxis, tolls, and bridge fees

  • Mileage reimbursement subject to change

2.3 Meals

  • Per diem rates apply

2.4 IPEI Coordinated Events – Per Diems (No Receipts Required)

  • Canada: $50 CAD per day per person

  • USA: $50 USD per day per person

3. Virtual Participation

  • Registration (maximum 2 representatives per business/event)

  • Virtual booth setup, digital content, and event-specific marketing

  • Shipping of product samples to virtual B2B events

  • Consultant fees for digital marketing, IT, and in-market services

4. Miscellaneous

  • HST must be separated and deducted on claims

  • Itemized receipts required (credit card slips alone are not sufficient)

  • Post-mission survey due within 5 business days of travel-related events

  • Up to 3 virtual activities reimbursed per year per business
