Apple Industry Development Program
This program supports producers and sector groups in identifying and advancing crop and livestock development opportunities across New Brunswick. It focuses on initiatives that enhance productivity, promote regional collaboration, and establish shared-use systems for improved resource efficiency.
Eligible funding may include:
• Sector-based economic development programming targeting growth potential
• Regional initiatives that strengthen agricultural production and processing
• Creation of agricultural machinery cooperatives to improve access and affordability
Additional costs may be eligible if they contribute to the program’s objectives of long-term agricultural development.

This stream supports improvements to orchard production, infrastructure, and fruit quality systems. Eligible activities include:
• Purchase of new orchard trees, top-grafted trees, and support systems
• Specialized storage monitoring equipment (e.g., calibration gas, regulating tools, bulk bins)
• Soil fumigation and in-field irrigation systems to improve tree health and yields
Other technologies may be considered if they clearly enhance apple quality and storage outcomes.
